Festival Fashion

Hey everyone, finally, I managed to put a post together about the wonderful festival I went to last weekend. Since this a fashion blog, I’ll start with my outfit. It was pretty much this:

Festival Fashion

And yes, I have been wearing the same cargo shorts all weekend, but at least I changed underneath, right?! Well, it was a festival and it was punk rock! :D
Here are some more impressions. Enjoy!

Roller Derby

I visited a roller derby for the first time this past weekend. And it was so much fun!

[WikipediaRoller derby is a contact sport played by two teams of five members roller skating in the same direction around a track. Game play consists of a series of short matchups ("jams") in which both teams designate a scoring player (the "jammer") who scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. The teams attempt to assist their own jammer while hindering the opposing jammer — in effect, playing both offense and defense simultaneously.]

The teams playing were the Hamburg Harbor Girls and Sweden’s Gothenburg Roller Derby!

And yeah, Hamburg won!!!

Roller Derby is an awesome sport to watch, there was a great atmosphere and it made me wanna skate again. I did that as a little kid, not sure if I still could, but a friend and me wanna go and try! :)

Most people in the audience were a really rock’n'roll and they had a band playing some rockabilly/psychobilly. With a real contrabass! [The band Pfeffer on myspace] So here’s my rock’n'roll style!

And a close up of the eye make-up!

Afterwards we went to the Hafengeburtstag (“annual harbor birthday”) and saw one more concert there, the Bambix [myspace link, hardcore]. That was awesome as well! As you can tell I had a wonderful weekend! How was yours?

NKOTBSB

A friend and me went to THE concert two days ago! NKOTBSB - New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys. We won the tickets at local radio station.

If you do not know them, listen to NKOTB – Step by step and BSB – Everybody. And here’s also a little video of the concert in Hamburg.

The concert so totally rocked! I wasn’t even a fan back in the days, but I still knew all the songs. We were singing along and screaming just like the rest of the girls there. They were all our age and you could see how everyone was transferred back into her past. There was only one major difference: No hysteria, meaning no crying, fainting, shoving and pushing! That made all the more relaxed.

Here are some impressions (made with my cell phone cam, so they’re not that good..)

Brain walking like an egyptian (or something like that)

Although Nick and AJ got a little chubby, they all still got the moves :D

We had an amazing night!
